That’s right, eight to zero!  A Champions League record. At this point I don’t care if we get out the group stages or not, at least we made a substantial mark…. Okay, I do care if we get out, but boy did we need that kind of victory.

I needed that kind of victory. With the adoption going the way it is, the turmoil and uncertainty- I feel bad that a football match can even have this kind of affect on me, but it does. I needed something to lift my spirits.

I don’t want to think about the match analysis, whether or not this should be the starting eleven all the time, whether or not Benitez deserves the credit, etc., etc., blah, blah, blah.  I want to savor the win for what it is.  C’mon Reds!

Halloween Headaches

After a great evening last night at the Pumpkin Patch Bash, my kids dressing as a pirate and ninja, repsectively,  they both complain of headaches, with one lying on the couch having missed dinner- a sure sign he isn’t faking it. He loves to tell people his favorite meals and how many bean and cheese burritos and hot dogs he can eat in one sitting. I’ve considered nicknaming him ”Orson” after Orson Wells and his famous hot dog-eating abilities (he at 18 at one time at LA’s famous Pink’s).  No doubt the pain felt in between their ears is candy-induced.  With barely a dent in the bags containing last nights booty, I am not sure what to do about tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day. If I let them eat 1 or 2 pieces every 24 hours it will be next October by the time they are done.

What gave me a headache was the way Liverpool played over the weekend, with their draw at Anfield against Arsenal. But they are unbeaten, and if their dry patch of the season means draws and not losses, then we should be okay. With Torres, Alonso and Agger out right now I hope we can take care of Blackburn this weekend.  I think Crouchy can step up, I just hope Sissoko, if played, has got his act together as he was dreadful last time out.

Regarding the other fixtures, the matchup of the weekend is obviously the ManU v. Arsenal on Saturday. I may just wake up at 5:30 AM to watch it. My mind says a draw would be best, a meager sharing of points for the both of them, but for some reason I would love to see Arsenal annihilate Sir Alex’s men.  That would be better than dirty chai and ibuprofen chaser.
