You’ll never make ravioli alone

Donning my Liverpool jersey, too big jeans and faded camouflage thongs (make that flip flops) I set to work cranking dough through my new pasta maker as my wife takes bits of swiss chard, cheese, garlic and basil and forms the whole lot into soon-to-be-eaten ravioli. My 33rd birthday and my idea of fun is cooking. Well, not for the whole day, and with my back killing me (I’ve got to give credit to Italian grandmas everywhere) I look forward to an afternoon movie and dinner at Bally-Hoo in Tumwater. Do they serve bangers and mash? We shall see.

Back to the big jeans thing. I read somewhere that if you look young (seriously, if you really believe this) and you want people to take you seriously, don’t wear baggy clothes since it reinforces this perception.  So, my goal is wear as tight as jeans as possible all of the time, with black socks, Vans slip-ons and grow my bangs down to my chin. This is sure to get people to take this 30+ year old me seriously.

  1. Happy Birthday. Not sure about Bangers and Mash, but they do have a mean Plowman’s Lunch.

Bangers and Mash are off the menu, as of today. Tomorrow they debut the new menu and it’s not on it. Too bad. Had the corned beef sandwich which was tastey, with the Welsh rarebit to start, which was okay but you can’t take that off the menu, can you? It was the first time I had been there. Good atmosphere, not far from my house, giant TV with Setanta. I will be back often. I talked to the bartender and and asked about hours. They said that they open at 3 PM during the week but if a group calls ahead they will open early. I am trying to round up enough people for Champion’s League games at 11:30 AM on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays this fall.

  3. CL games sound interesting, but since I have a DVR and most of the games are on EPSN, probably not too tempting. I might come out for a decent 1130a game.

How to you feel about US WC qualifiers?
